Sit & Go's!

I grew tired of grinding the micro stakes to get my bankroll back up, so lately I have been grinding $10 6-max sit and go's which has been going very smoothly. Hope it allows me to get back up to the low stakes cash tables soon! Later when I have some time I'll post up a graph of my winnings on the sit and go's! Btw, GO VIKINGS!

He Returns!

Sup guys, obviously I have not posted in a while, but there is good reason. My brother needed money to fix his car and so I withdrew money from my poker account to help him out, because he always helps me out when I need something. So anyways, I'm back! I have already begun grinding the lower stakes to build my bankroll back up so I can continue at the $.25/.50-$.50/1. 6-max game!. I'll be sure to continue blogging on my continued success and failures, so stay tuned!

Back At It

Alright! So after a pretty fun weekend of casinos and hanging out with my friends, I'm back to doing my grind. Yesterday I got in a pretty good session of $.25/.50 and after a bunch of bad beats, I still managed to have a winning day. Today started off a lot like yesterday with a bunch of bad beats and I was really starting to get frustrated, but I calmed down and turned it into another winning day. Hopefully I can keep to my schedule and be at the $.50/1.00 by sometime next week! Keep a look out!

Good Week After All!

Whats up!? Boy was yesterday exciting for me. I was able to go up in levels and play $.25/.50 6max! and did really well, going up about +$190 for the day. Accounting for Wednesdays epic failure of me tanking (-$177), I was able to bounce back. If all goes well next week, there will be the possibility of me moving up stakes once again and hitting the $.50/1.00 tables which would be a huge accomplishment for me. Anyways I'm off to my soon to be aunts birthday pool party, so no poker today, unless I get on later tonight. Hope you all have a great weekend! Peace out! Oh and you can check out last weeks graph and let me know what you think about it! =)

Moving Up!

Sup guys! Just finished playing some poker, at $.25/.50 6max x 4 tables (4 tables of $50 buy ins) It was my first day at this new level and I had to adjust to the aggression but did pretty well, up about $50 in just under an hour, and should be up about $100, if my AA didn't lose to QQ preflop.... =/, Just like yesterdays horrible AA losing to KK, the same thing happend today where the guy happens to hit a 3rd Q on the turn for about $60, but as I said before, If I keep making that play I will continue to win and the odds will stack up on me to have a pretty good day for some big $$$$ soon I hope. Ill post up this weeks graph later on, but its pretty hot and I think its time to go hit the pool!!!!

Recovery!

Yesterday seemed like it was going to be a great day of poker at $.10/.25 6max (6 Seated) tables at Fulltilt Poker. If you didn't know, $.10/.25 tables are a $25 full stack buy in, and I usually play 4-6 tables at a time, so $100-150 in play at all times. I started off my session early in the morning, and was crushing,(winning a lot) it looked as if it would be a typical 2-3 double up day. meaning making between $50-75 for the day, which is good for the level I play at. Like I have said in my previous posts, I want to explain how someone with knowledge of poker could win consistently and beat people who think that all there is to poker is cards and luck, which is only one layer of what No Limit Poker really is. Anyways, everything was going smoothly, I was listening to some Pandora Radio (which is really a great site for those of you who don't know of it), and I was dealt Pocket Aces, which is the strongest starting hand in NLHE (No Limit Hold'em), I open raised, to 3x the big blind (3x.25=.75) and was then 3bet (raised by another player) he made it about $2.50, and I 4bet shoved all in on him, he calls with a pair of kings preflop. Now mathematically in this situation I'm in very good shape about 80% preflop to win the hand, and it looked like I would be making another quick $25, and then a King spiked on the river that totally tilted me (frustrated me-play bad). Now as I have said before, poker doesn't have to be a gamble, as you could see with the numbers from that hand match up. I was 80% to win and he was 20%,  so although I lost that time, I would win 8 out of 10 times if I continue to make that play! (Yesterdays Earnings -$177) Typically I would've stopped playing once I lost 3 buy ins ($75) but as I said before, I tilted after that King spiking the river, and never got back into the grove. (Today's Earnings +$75) If I decide to play some more tonight I'm sure I will cover some more of yesterdays losses, you will just have to find out tomorrow, and ill probably post up some pictures of my graph of money won and hands played so you can see the consistency. PLZ NO MORE NIGHTMARES OF BAD BEATS ON THE RIVER!

And Here We Go!

So here is my second blog entry, and I'm pretty excited to explain more about why and how I play poker. Let me begin with telling you a little more about myself. I was the typical kid growing up; went to school (hated it), played sports (loved it), and had a bunch of friends (some closer then others.) Though I hated school, it did not actually mean I didn't have goals of becoming a doctor, or a lawyer like everyone else. I'm quite sure a lot of people would agree that I could have easily gone in that direction if I put my efforts towards it. Which leads me to my next thought..."why poker?" Well let me explain, I have always been the type of person who loves puzzles and loves to be creative when playing any game, but to me card games where the cream of the crop. My step dad (Ron), introduced to me to poker when I was about 17, after he had taken down a pretty big tourney for a couple thousand, and I fell in love with the idea of playing a card game competitively for a living. My brother (Krys) introduced me to online poker sites where I could play, and play with the limited bankroll (money) that I had. After depositing about $50 dollars I thought I would start beating poker on a regular basis with the knowledge I had of the game, but I soon realized that there were people at my tables consistently winning and others consistently losing ( I R LOSER!), and I thought to myself, 'how can that be me'. So I took the initiative and picked up some books on poker, and read tons of articles online. With the information I learned from all of the books and articles that I've read I now understand how deep of a game poker is and hope to shed some light on the subject for whom ever decides to follow this blog. The way I see it, if I can get my family to start and support me for my decission to not continue with schooling and become an aspiring poker player, then I'm sure I can help get some support from some of you as well! =)
